Why buy directly from the artist?
"Why purchase CDs directly from an artist's Web site as opposed to buying a CD in a store or through Amazon.com, etc? The short answer is that most record labels structure contracts in such a way that artists make next to nothing. Artists are willing to enter these relationships for a variety of reasons but most importantly so that their work is distributed.
